No fines concrete is one type lightweight concrete, As the name indicates, it is a solid mixture without fine aggregates or sand. This type of concrete consists only of water, cement and coarse aggregates.

No Fines Important Notes on Concrete

  8. No special equipment is required for compaction of this concrete. Complete compaction can be achieved by simple rodding operation.

No Fines Concrete Limits

  1. Due to the absence of fine aggregates, this type of concrete lack of harmony While in the plastic state. That’s why it takes a long time to remove the formwork.
  2. this is more permeable compared to conventional concrete. Therefore walls built without fine concrete require an additional coat of mortar from a durability point of view.
  3. In general Reinforcement is not recommended In this type of concrete. However, if reinforcement is required to be used, apply a thin layer of cement paste over the reinforcement before use. This will improve the bond of the steel with the concrete and also improve its resistance to corrosion.
  4. there is no standard test method (eg deceleration or compaction factor) test to measure stability or practicality No fine concrete. Its practicality can be judged only by proper visual inspection and trial and error method.
